Thorlabs is a New Jersey based manufacturer of photonic tools and systems that offers a wide range of products from optics and opto-mechanical positioning components to sophisticated optical imaging systems. Thorlabs serves the needs of researchers and engineers worldwide; including the investigators of novel optical problems, designers and of users of optical apparatus of all kinds, and educators and businesses who harness the power of photonics. Customers include the National Labs, universities, medical research facilities, commercial laser companies, the military, defense companies, and both large and small photonics manufacturers worldwide.
Optek is official partner of Thorlabs in Latvia and delivers their products benefiting end-users with local support and service.
In our own scientific and development work we use mostly Thorlabs products and are really satisfied with their quality and durability. One such example is shown in the image on the right - optical system consisting of stabilized 780 nm ECDL laser and a frequency reference Rb cell. We have also delivered and installed many advanced Thorlabs products, such as extra large optical tables, optical coherence tomography systems, etc. All scientific institutions in Latvia use our delivered Thorlabs products.

Cobolt is at the very forefront of the industry in the development and manufacture of high performance lasers. Cobolt provides ultra low noise and single mode solid-state lasers with a high level of wavelength flexibility in the UV-Visible-NIR spectral range. In Baltics the Cobolt lasers are applied when high stability and high coherence light sources are necessary, for example, in holography (Daugavpils University, Institute of Solid State Physics of University of Latvia, Riga Technical University) or in Raman spectroscopy (Kaunas University of Technology). The Cobolt lasers are exceptional for imaging with Raman confocal microscopy. Here are some of the confocal Raman microscopy examples:

A new name since June 2019, but not a new face in the industry.
Luxinar, previously known as Rofin-Sinar UK Ltd, has been at the forefront of laser technology for over 20 years, is a leading manufacturer of sealed carbon dioxide (CO2) laser sources up to 1000W and has installed over 18000 lasers worldwide.
Excited by the successful growth in recent years, Austrian investors CMR bought the company in 2017. Luxinar is continuing to grow, and the rebrand to Luxinar has come about as part of this transition.
Luxinar offers a versatile laser source portfolio which caters for a diverse range of industries, including automotive manufacturing, electronics, fashion, food & beverage, packaging, glass, medical and pharmaceutical.
Luxinar industrially-proven sealed CO2 laser sources are based on a diffusion-cooled slab principle that produces a high-quality, round and symmetrical beam. These lasers are available with power levels from 125W to 1kW at three different wavelengths, allowing us to tailor solutions to our customers’ specific needs. Our MULTISCAN laser marking systems offer an inkless method to apply text, graphics and barcodes to a wide range of materials.
